Pilot plant with the AEMBBR-MBR system
BIOLOGÍA Y FILTRACIÓN SL, is conducting a pilot plant study on a new wastewater treatment system called AEMBBR-MBR framed within the REGIREU project of the RIS3CAT Water Community, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund ( FEDER). The system consists of the combination of two existing systems, highly tested in their efficiency, mobile bed (MBBR) and membrane bioreactor (MBR).
The objective of the study is to determine what increase the new system can obtain over that of traditional activated sludge in the performance of the elimination of BOD, nitrogen and suspended materials, in other words, what capacity to increase the load to be treated can withstand in an existing installation, or surface – volume saving on a new installation to be built, and energy saving in all cases . The AEMBBR-MBR system is being tested in an urban and wastewater treatment plant of a textile industry with a high nitrogen load.
